Humbled
OK..Iv’e learned my lesson…ventless heaters suck. My walls are soaking wet all the time and I seem to get headaches when I’m in the shop. Probably pyscosematic…or whatever.
I am going to take back the one I purchased a couple of weeks ago and buy a standard vented propane furnace..the one I have picked out is 60,000 btu.
My question concerns the moisture problem…a buddy tells me I will still have moisture (humidity) problems..is this true? My new shop is uninsulatd with pine walls and a hardwood floor with crawlspace..(ground covered in plastic).
Please advise.

Get yerself into a hyperbaric oxy chamber first, you probly have serious co damage...headaches? well duh.
Thanks for your concern..but I'm more worried about my shop and tools being wet.
Can I buy one of them thar oxy things on Ebay?
Your shop and tools are not going do anygood when yer in a hospital from CO poisoning. Geta woodstove or and ele heater and crank it up to dry everything out. A real approved chimney of course if ya are burning anything besides the lights.
Good luck, you were lucky if ya didn't cause any damage to your self.
Iv'e only had the ventless in there since X-mas...don't think I'm any dumber...but could be...
As long as you properly vent a ng or propane furnace to the outside of the shop, you will be ok. Follow the installation instructions for the unit you get.
BTW, if you need heat, you need to insulate that shop, and keep it heated to a minimum of 45 degree F to keep your tools in decent condition. Not heating it when you are not in there will only save you money on fuel cost. Your tools will still collect moisture condensing out of the air as the shop cools down durring you non use periods.
BTDT.

Did you have moisture in the shop before you had any heat at all?
If not, adding heat (vented) to a dry space usually will not make it wet...Buic

Good point...No..I heated with a kerosone heater and did not notice moisture.
Propane is carbon and hydrogen. The oxygen in the air combines with the hydrogen to form H2O and the carbon is left to combine with oxygen to make carbon monoxide and dioxide and other stuff. Enough reason not to use unvented burner.
Check out this site http://www.Alsheating.com/RinnaiHeater.htm I use these vented heaters and they work great, very efficient, and almost no maintainence. They'd be perfect for a shop. good luck
