access to dryer/washing machine under countertop

Any pointer or things to consider on water/drain/electric/exhaust vent access when installing washer and dryer under a counterop? It seems like access to the hookups would be a challenge with a slab of granite/concrete, etc over them and cabinets built around. For example, how do you get water off quickly in case of a leak? Thanks

The hard part is connecting the dryer outlet. Water can be turned off with remote valves -- they don't need to be right behind the washer.
If I had to do this, I'd put the pair on a trolley of some sort.
I would connect the machines for easy access, that is, normal way, then put a rolling counter over them. Make sure there will be enough room to roll the counter out and away. Stool on wheels also is handy for moving the laundry out of front loaders.
