Ive been reading here about CCA being phased out and the new product ACQ being very corrosive to galv. hangers, nails etc. and I also assume untreated nails, screws etc.
But does anyone know or have an opinion what it will do to our tools? I know some of the PT CCA stuff can be really juicy.
From what ive read here in previous posts the ACQ eats up galvi hangers and nails pretty quickly. I was wondering if my saw blades will start corroding after a week of building with the stuff and throw its little carbide teeth at me.I doubt it. but how bout ACQ and Aluminum ? the saw base plate and blade guard are aluminum on my saw and probably yours too.how about the tips of the air nailers being shoved into the Acq wood everyday. should we give the tools a sponge bath and and good blowing out at the end of the day?Or should I get out my beater saw to work with ACQ
