The photo shows a gutter that sat on the house, with a left hand corner. I added a porch and need to install a gutter there. Rather throw away a perfectly good gutter can I just cut a 45 on the right side of the existing gutter and add a length for the porch? If possible, what is the best way to cut the gutter without bending the thin metal and how should I connect the corner?
Thanks

has a few hints
same idea if you go to the big box store and buy ten foot lengths
I picked up all the parts I need to add to the gutter and watched a number of installation videos. None of them addressed a problem I want to avoid.
I have to replace the facia board on the back of my house because water had been leaking behind the gutter for a long time. As a workaround until I can get to it, I slid metal flashing under the drip edge and over the edge of the gutter so water can’t get behind it.
When installing this new gutter what needs to be done to avoid this issue? The facia where the gutter is being installed is pvc so it won’t rot but I still don’t want leaks.
Thanks
Careful examination might give hints. (also consider if you have leakage before you get to the drip edge)
you are on the right track to make sure you have flashing where the top of the gutter is not covered by the drip edge.
water runs downhill
also consider what happens if/when the gutters clog up and fill with water.
make sure the gutters have a slight slope down to where they drain, and that they are well-supported.
