Hey Everyone,
I’m racking my brain and can’t find much information online to see if what I’m trying to do is possible.
I’m planning on adding an 8×12 addition (10ft wall height) off the side of the house from the kitchen. The area in question that i would be doing the addition is in South-Eastern New Brunswick.
The addition in question will be around 36″ up from the ground, and a system like Postech wont be able to bring equipment in to put in helical piles due to the woodland around the house, and also the Well and Septic being in the way for them to get their equipment in.
I’ve looked at the Pylex 66 Helical Piles, but I’m not sure they would be strong enough for an addition, or if Sonotubes and Big Foots would be the way to go.
With it being a Post and Beam addition, I’m also trying to find if the Carrying Beams and the posts to support the structure on the outer rim would have to be Pressure Treated?
Everything else I’m fairly comfortable and fine with, Aside from the choices for footings.
Any help on it would be amazing.
Thanks in Advance,
Chris
