How do you adjust the hinges on a door to keep it from closing by itself?
I recently installed a prehung door and it wants to stay in the half open position. Both the door and frame are level in all directions and square. It is an interior Oak Panel door with Ives hinges.
Thank You,

Take one pin out. Lay it flat on a hard surface. Hit the middle firmly with a hammer, bending the pin slightly. Should slide in the barrells harder and keep the door from moving by itself.

I put a slight bend in two of the pins and the door still wants to move to the half closed position. Any more recommendations???
Thank You,
You didn't bend it enough. Or the door is really heavy.
Did you bend them enough to make re-insertion of the pins markedly harder? That usually works for doors that's jamb is outta plumb front to back.
Do you have a hook with a heavy robe hanging on the back of the door?
You can shim the hinge leafs, but this may booger up the reveal. I'd certainly be checking the level.
You can correct the hang a bit by putting a vise grip on the hinge barrells (door hung and pin in) ...............cushioned..............and bending back. Usually the top hinge, this'll bring the door up and back toward the hinge....or opposite if bent the other way.
Something's goofy in denmark.

Maybe someone else can remember better than I can, but it seems I read something (in FHB?) in a "tips" section about what to do--I think it involved shimming the lower hinge (like with one thickness of cereal box type cardboard). I'd also heard about bending the pins, but apparently that doesn't always work.
buy a new level cause yours aint right.

The level *could* be correct and the hinge mortises the culprit.

Mr T. may have something--do you get the same reading when you flip your level end for end? Some levels can be adjusted instead of buying a new one.
frame is not plumb---it may be parallel to the wall with the wall not plumb
