When I first started out I use to place ads in the local Pennysavers. I actually got real good response from them. Course I landed about two out of ten jobs but it was a good way to start my business (27 years ago)….later on my customers became my best advertising. When things got slow….say between the holidays and tax season I’d place ads in the local New York newspaper and reached it seemed, a better clientele then the (price shopping)Pennysaver ads..although not as a rule….to keep things moving along and name recognition I’d place a 1/4 page ad in the local phone books from here to the Hamptons which was a fortune…..thousands…..but when you think about it one or two jobs paid for it and the name recognition…along with my van signs and job site signs (I know I know)where I was doing exterior work out front. I think BESIDES word of mouth my phone book ads brought me the most response. costs me the most but seemed invaluable. Question is: BESIDES word of mouth what single advertising campaign brought you all in the best results…..or that you found to be the most invaluable resource?
