I’m building a super insulated and hyper well sealed house. when finished I know that there will be a need for a air to air heat exchanger, yet I haven’t seen any real reports on them.. who makes a great one, why it’s better, and problems to look out for ..

Hi frenchy go to Broan.com and check out the exchangers they sell. I have an HRV1200? and its amazing the difference it makes, no more humidity on the windows in winter and the house just smells cleaner. I am building again this spring and I am going to use the new model they have with a HEPA filter built in.

I have a preference for this brand simply because the company behind them has a great history of producing excellent products and they have good representation in our market. Plus they have good technical info and support.
Over the years I used several of their heat pipe types.

Yes Fantech is an excellent company, we use the inline exhaust fans and dryer boosters all the time.
Hey RB I just went to the Fantech IAQ page and the picture and specs are the same as my Broan HRV1200, I wonder who makes it?????
No Kidding!
That's interesting!
Fantech is part of the Euro Kanaflakt group which aquired Enviroair (Heat Pipe guys - east coast Canada) several years ago. Kanaflakt supplied inline direct drive fans to PM Wright (Quebec) and a number of earlier manufacturers of HRV in the late 70's. Almost pre Vanee days. So Kanaflakt has been around along time...but I didn't know about the Broan thing...will have to check into it - thanks for the info. I love this kinda of stuff.
