Air hose repair

I cut my air hose today and am trying to remove the plugs. All they do is spin..how come they won’t come off?

    Just like a PEX connection. The barbs will spin. You can try dumping them in boiling water to soften the hose, or just cut 'em off and shorten the hose a bit.
