Air sealing LED can lights with caulk.
I have 8 recessed lights in my living room. They are all 13W LEDs. I caulked all of the plastic ascutions to the drywall on the ceiling with vinyl adheasive caulk. They are otherwise open to all of the open space between the joists of the second floor on the house. Seems to me like this is by far the easiest way to air seal LED recessed. At 22,000 hours burn time, I won’t mind scraping off a little caulk in ten years to replace one. Any thoughts? Any saftey concerns?

for the love of {insert desired diety} do not use 3M fire block foam!!!!!
Smile when you say that!
As I read it, you are sealing the lenses to the ceiling with caulk. This seems a little extreme, but I can't see any functional problem with it (other than being a PITA when you need to service the thing, and possibly damaging the lense while removing and not finding a repacement).
