This may be a wild goose chase, but I’m wondering if anyone has a lead on air-tight elec. switch & outlet boxes that are close to the same price as conventional boxes?
Thanks.

Silicone where the wires enter the box, mud the gaps between side of box and sheetrock (or use low expansion foam) and use foam gaskets behind the plates.
Usually the best approach is to buy the plastic surrounds for boxes. These are put in before the boxes, the wires run through holes, and then the boxes installed. Holes in the surrounds are siliconed, and the surround has a flange permitting the vapor barrier to be taped to it.
The surrounds are generally clear plastic, about as thick as those $%#! clear plastic clamshell packages they use for cheap electronic gear hanging on pegs at Best Buy or Wally World. Never priced them, but they should be dirt cheap.
