   Gary,

   I assume when you say Senco "pinner" that you mean finish nailer and not an actual 20 gauge gun that shoots pins...

   If that's the case, I think the DeWalt should do that job for you without a problem. When I used the gun it had more than enough power to sink into any material I tried, but I admit I didn't use it for Maple.

   What length nails are you trying to shoot?

   The Senco I'm referring to is an 18-guage pinner. I was using 2 1/8-inch pins, but the nailer couldn't shoot 1 5/8-inch pins through the maple.

   I prefer the smaller pins plus glue for stain grade trimming on cabinet installations. I'm hoping to find a similar gun that'll shoot through maple. If I have to, I'll settle for a 16-guage finish nailer, but I don't like to see the big, puttied holes. BTW, I use a 22-guage, headless Omer pinner for thin stuff, and I defy most to find the hole. My old eyes can't find them. Those don't hold real well, and that's why I use the 18-guage, headed pins on thicker material.

   Gary. I have the 18ga. Paslode and it will set nails in maple. I have 3 Paslode airless guns and have been quite happy with them. The depth of drive adjustment will enable you to sink nails in almost any material. Jay

   Thanks, Jay. I'm leaning toward the Paslode, but I didn't know they sold an 18-guage pinner.

   I wish the retailer would let me test one of the guns. It doesn't make sense to sell me one, only to have to drive back to return it if it doesn't work in material I often use. Gary W
