LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON AIRLESS PAINT SPRAYERS. WHAT BRANDS ARE BEST, MOST VERSITLE, INTERIOR, EXTERIOR, LAYTEX, OILS, STAINS? IS MORE EXPENSIVE ALWAYS BETTER? PISTON VS DIAPHRAM? I’VE BEEN RENTING AS NEEDED FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND AM FINALLY NEEDING TO PURCHASE. USE WOULD BE SEMI PROFESSIONAL (10-12 DAYS OF THE MONTH) FOR RESIDENTIAL REHAB.

Most folks will say the Titan 440 is the beast.
I guess that is why used ones, looking half worn out and all paint splattered, go for up to 75 percent of new in the bidding frenzies on eBay.
Have had good luck with Graco, more money gets you more pump and better parts in the gun and pump.
I'll second the titian 440 i don't care for the 440E as much...
i have at least 5 of em... no real reason to but... if one is good 5 must be better i also have the same pump thats Gas powered 5hp honda... that doubles as parkinglot striper....
i do keep seperate lines/hoses/guns for latex & oil... I still find em at pawnshops for $300 for a pretty clean unit and under $100 for units that someone left paint in... takes a few hours to clean one like that...
always plan on spending an hour cleaning it up when finished for the day ( if latex and you will be spraying the next day the gun in a bucket of water and just water run for 5 min in the lines will work for overnite
don't think you'll go wrong with a 440... unless u want to spray block filler...
I've painted trailers, my dumptruck ect with the 440 and use'n penetrol with industrial enamel and the right tip and 4-5 years later they still shine

This really doesn't apply to you, but just in case somebody else at the "homeowner" level is reading this...
It's definately *not* the Wagner Paint Crew. I picked one up a couple of years ago, and it works well. I only have about 20 gallons out of it: it's still going strong. The primary problem is that it uses a paint hopper, rather than a suction tube. This makes cleanup, especially if you are using oil-based paint, a real PITA. You're pretty much guaranteed to go through at least 2 gallons of solvent. This is one of those products that I'd steer anyone away from.
Public opinion wise around here, Titan and Graco. For what you're talking about, they're small pumps and on sale you can get set up for under a grand. The Titan 440 and the Graco 395 are very similar. They differ in color, where the filter is, but performance wise or compatibility with tips . . . non issue. Personal opinion, I'm a Graco guy, but thats not doggin the Titan. Just faith, I have 3 different pumps from them and they're all solid. I would not go below those two - you start getting into pumps that dont even have filters. Ack. First time you clean your filters out you'll see why I think this is a bad idea. Every time that stuff hits the tip you're at a work stop.
Really, about the only accessory I'd even say you'd feel was worth the money is making sure that when you get it, you get a whip and a swivel. The two together will make worlds of difference in your ability to control the gun position and your hand/arm comfort and fatigue level. I know the 395 I bought came with the swivel but the whip was probably a $25 add.
