I understand that using aluminum flashing next to or attached to pressure treated lumber will not be allowed under the new building codes. I am wondering what the problem was. Does that include the next generation of pressure treated lumber. What are the other options can a person use?

Try galvanized flashing. I like it better anyway. It is stronger, and holds up better.
