I’m going to get some 24′ aluminum planks, two-man (500 lbs.) rated probably 14″ wide. I’m going to go on craigslist and place a “wanted to buy” ad. Is there really any difference between different brands? Werner vs Louisville vs Alumapole planks?

They're all good brands and I have some of all of them, procured mostly the same way you're thinking. I have no preference.

I see them all the time at pawn shops.
What you doing in pawn shops?
that where they pawn all the stolen stuff at
Will you be using them on Aluminum pump poles or ladders with jacks ?
If pumps then the Aluma pole decks might be the best choice , but like Grant said they're all good quality.
Price might be a factor too.
Just curious, why do you say that the Alumapole planks would be best on Alumapole jacks?
Because they can be connected together by a secure connection as was discussed in another thread.
Most other brands can not.
Is that how you'll be using them ???
Not what the OP was referring to, but a good deal can be had at Home Depot right now - they are clearing out their entire line of Louisville ladders and such at about 70% off. They have the 8'-13' extendable planks for $70 - regular $200.JT
where are you located?
I have 4 24'ers , only need 2.
Right after you sell two of them, you will need four of them ;)
Just bought two today. Thanks for the offer.
