Anyone bought an aluminum screed for a straightedge to plumb walls over 8 ft?The ones i saw for sale are 1 1/2″ by 3″, 1/8 ” thick and come in different lengths. I was considering buying a 10 or 12 footer. You can also get them with 3/8 ” thick sides. I saw them at a website for concrete tools and supples. I called up and the guy said they were very straight and durable.He actually said they make them up to 21 ft! I remember using a 12 or 14 ft magnesium one once and it eyed dead straight.Magnesium screeds are twice or more what an aluminum cost. A 12ft aluminum goes for around $110 plus freight . Im tired of looking for straight 2×4’s.
