Purchased aluminum soffiting just last summer, went back today and they have changed the colour lot on it. How easy would it be to paint the new to match the old.

Prescriptive codes don't address the connection at less common angles, so base the connection off more typical ones using bolts, structural screws, blocking, and steel tension ties.

Never had any luck painting aluminum soffitt or siding. Paint always flakes off. Try using what you have in one certain area and use the new lot number on a different wall. That way you wont notice the color change. We have had this problem with steel siding and this usually solves the problem. Alot of manufacturers tell you right on the box not to mix lot #'s. I would advise aginst painting as it will not last.
When I was working the trade over 12 years ago, there wasn't any really good primer on the market that would adhere to metal soffit and last. I think there are a few brands out there now that might. I have run into that problem too. We bought a house and the some of the soffit looks like it came from diff lots. I'm going to try and use a good primer and see if that'll work. I'm doing some researsh now, if I find any good info I'll pass it along.
