We’ve got a tub with a built-in plug that you pick up and spin 1/4 turn to open and another 1/4 turn to close. The basket beneath is clogged up with hair (I’m married to a Sasquatch. LOL!!) so I need to remove the plug assembly. How the heck do you get it out? I’ve tried CW and CCW spinning with constant upward pressure but it stays put. WTF??
Thanks,
Scott.

Normally the top just spins freely on the pop-up post and there is a stud on the bottom of the post. Put a monkey wrench between the tub and the popup top and turn the post and it should free it right up.
On mine, the pop top knob is threaded into the disc. Unscrew the knob and there is an allen screw inside.

No tweezers?
I've got one of the "press on, press off" types, and had to get the hair out Thursday.
Yeah, just unscrew the top cover, and there's a big brass stud inside that actually threads to the basket, allen or standard screwdriver.
Maybe I was just lucky

At least you'll never be cold in the winter months! And she won't steal your razor!
P.S/ I don't know doodley about the drain. Sorry.

Ok, thanks all. Your responses got me experimenting... with this one you CLOSE the drain and turn it CCW; out it came.
Thanks,
Scott.

How do you turn it while in a closed position?
sobriety is the root cause of dementia.
>>>How do you turn it while in a closed position?THAT's exactly why it was counter-intuitive from the outset. The supply valve assembly is by Moen, but I can't remember if the drain was by them too.Anyway, you have to close the valve, gently lift it by a few microns to stop it from binding, and then turn CCW; out it comes. Go figure...Scott.Always remember those first immortal words that Adam said to Eve, “You’d better stand back, I don’t know how big this thing’s going to get.”
