Hoping someone can help me out with a problem we’re having. We installed Anderson e-series slider units in a new construction home. Unfortunately, the ONLY hardware option anderson offers is stinking fugly. Espicially in a moden contemporary home. The owners hate them. Has anyone else run into this problem and found a different handle? Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks

Maybe if you installed AndersEn windows you'd do better?
It only a problem because you installed it. If you would have reviewed hardware options for this series before you bought it, then you wouldn't be in this position. Tip: look before you leap. FWIW most reputable window and door manufacture offer limited selection of handles for their sliders and they many of them (Weathershield, Marvin) have ones that are very similar to Eagle's. Ergonomically speaking, it works.
An expensive way out is to have a metal smith make you a custom handle that will work with Andersen's latch. I would love to see the price tag for that shovel.
Options
I see a lot of options available. Maybe the problem is your supplier,

In addition to spelling Andersen correctly, it would help if you specified whether you're talking about "sliding windows" or "gliding doors".
Clients wanting anodized aluminum finish limits ones options, as well as having a local supplier. Point of clarification, these are sliding patio doors.
Well, you can buy replacement parts directly thorugh Andersen.
Emtek?
Don't know if this is what you are looking for or not, but Emtek makes replacement hardware for many companies including Andersen: http://www.directdoorhardware.com/emtek_multi_point_configuration3.htm
I also think we used some hardware from Sun Valley Bronze (http://www.sunvalleybronze.com/collections?productCategoryId=6&productPageId=27) or Rocky Mountain Hardware (http://www.rockymountainhardware.com/door-hardware?id=223&Itemid=85) on a project in Sun Valley...they might be another source.
If you have a good commercial hardware supplier nearby, I would take the hardware to them for some help..they deal with this kind of stuff every day...
