Made it home safe. I "just" beat the traffic on the LIE. Was home in a little over an hour. Great time...man the food is great in that place...damn! We'll most definatly have to do that again. I'll check out what concerts are comin' up and see about coming in again real soon.

On the weekend there can be quite a line. They have locations in the E.Vilage and SoHo too.
if only they'd open one on the UWS....Marine Engineer
I miss Fairway and Zabars from when I used to live up there.

I'm having a great time living where I do right now, but I really do miss NYC. Especially the old Brooklyn neighborhood. It's probably all changed now. I know times Sq certainly has since the late 70's.Do you have a favorite Chinese restaraunt? If it's still there, try #11 Mott St. Hong Ying Rice Shop and order the Lychee Duck which is not on the menu. It's where the Chinese eat.
I live down in NoHo, but we've got a summer place in E. Hampton also. I'm out there on weekends alot since I'm finishing up a house I built.
When I was in school I lived on 72nd at Columbus for awhile.edit: I was in up in your neighbourhood last Sunday, went to Shun Lee for dim sum and then to the Childrens Museum on 83rd. We often go to the Natural History museum / Planetarium.

First started buying coffe there years ago when I moved in with the GF at Bleeker and Sullivan. Sometimes it is tough to ge to the store so I just call and order it. Last time I bought 5 pounds the UPS charge was like $8. Love the Columbia Supremo!

OK, my sister is a coffee fanatic. Maybe I should mail order her some. What would be a good choice for a first order? Was your peaberry Malabar mixed in one bag or two separate bags? Someone else mentioned Columbia Supremo.jt8

two separate bags.coffee is very subjective. I like african coffee the best, but everyone is different. But what's nice about this place is that they roast the coffee so it's fresh, and they do enough business that the coffee doesn't sit forever waiting for a buyer.Made a pot of the Monsoon Malabar this morning, it was quite good. I use a french coffee press, and when I poured the boiling water into my grounds, they "fizzed" which I think means the beans were pretty darn fresh, they hadn't gassed off completely yet. It was quite good. The tanzania peaberry is a little lighter, and, if you can believe it, a bit sweet. Not bitter like Starbucks.Give it a try, it's cheap enough that you don't have to worry.Marine Engineer
You got my mouth watering. Or at least my mind wondering if it's really that good. So I placed an order this weekend.
I thought id try that peaberry you were talking up. Then also giving Peter's blend a try.
I cant wait. Kinda tied of the same old cup of folgers in the morning.
Thanks
hope you enjoy it. Stopped in yesterday, bought a 1/2 lb of the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, made a pot this afternoon: very very good. Will become part of my regular rotation.Marine Engineerfair winds and following seas
made a pot this afternoon>>>>>>>>
Speaking of pot : ) Jamaican Blue Mtn at $60 a pound is more than you pay for pot in some necks of the woods. Personally I never understood why people would pay that much for it. Ain't all that great anyway....Kona at least you can taste the differance and its not quite as expensive as Blue Mtn...If Blodgett says, Tipi tipi tipi it must be so!

OK, so I don't move very fast, but I get there eventually. Put in an order for my sister's bday. Ordered a pound each of Tanzanian Peaberry, the Indian Monsoon Malabar, Columbia Supremo, and Pete's blend (whomever Pete is). Probably be here next week. Hopefully she will like it.

Just brewed a french press of the Colombian Peaberry, and it's mighty fine. Also bought some Red Sea blend, and Northeast Blend, yesterday. Life is good.Marine Engineerfair winds and following seas
Sister must have liked that coffee, she asked me for the webpage of the place.
