Well, another room done (cept’ for in the closet, shhhhh).
I went with the 3/4 MDF wainscotting this time. I primed
and painted it Navajo white semi…
bed mold a semi gloss green and the
walls the same green but flat.
I must be running outta steam to give in to that
MDF W.S but I do have to say it works O.K for
the mudroom. (In the upstairs bath I used 3/4″ pine W.S.)
For the floor I used slate.
“Almost” just laid down the 12×12’s as is/was but that’s
just not in me. Of course I just had to extend the project
another two dayz…ugh…by cutting the 12×12’s
into triangles and those 1 1/2×12’s.
Sealed the floor w/ 2 coats and even found a piece of
furnature that same day.
Now Ill be outside Monday to start glazing
30 12 over 12’s….oh joy.

Great job. The tiles are worth a few extra days for that killer pattern. That piece of furniture is great too, suits really well. You should be very proud.
not bad for a dirty hippy ;)
seriously though, very nice work
You know, I was grouting a floor yesterday and was thinking of you Andy.
I wonder how Andy made out with that slate floor?
Very nice I see!! Keep it up, you'll be done soon.

Nice job Andy.
It's amazing what a little ws, extra tile work, and unique paint will do for a room that normally would be quite normal. Now it looks like a showcase (except for that unsightly closet).

Very nice, uhhh, except for the light.
Hey!
Some of us appreciate the natural beauty of a light bulb and don't see a need to cover it up with some hoity-toity "fixture".

Seriously, that is a very nice job!
Andy, the slate floor is killer. Your right, especially when your doing the work, the material costs are the same whether you cut the 12 x 12 into a thousand pieces, or just lay them down as is. Heres to going the extra mile.
I'm taking notes on that tile pattern.....
Nice work andy.....love the slate!

Looks great!
I am doing a job with the exact same heaters. Always trying to hide them, LOL. How did you paint them? I sprayed them adfter stripping. What a time suck.
Heres a successful "Hiding" but I can't do that in every room. Yours look well done. I know what you went trough with the damn things!

Dang man, best wait for good weather so you can set up outside and work in the sun.

Wow! Those are impressive!
When you think about the effort we go into to hide heating stuff, radient makes more sense all the time!
In my case, it was easy. I designed the room and built it knowing what i had to deal with. Had fun making the "casement" windows on the left, and the window sill/radiator cover.
Your mudromm is cool. You called the color green. looks grey in the pics what was the actual make and color name?Jake Gulick

Thanks Mike but a friend of mine turned me on to it months ago. Too bad they don't use it on a channel on Satallite radio. I thought that'd be a great place for it cause I have that on most of the day.If Blodgett says, Tipi tipi tipi it must be so!

Great work on the baseboard covers, as well as the mudroom. Thanks for posting it. How much you got left to do on this house, besides the windows of course?

5% inside left to do and I hope to be done with all the outside standard things before winter.........then back to the real world working on other peoples houses again...ugh...echhh...unless I sell this and do another somewhere on this rock...but it'd have to be something pretty exciting after this one for us to leave here cause we're really diggin' this place...for some reason New Zealand keeps popping into my head and I've never even been there...who knows so I'm just "being here now" : )
I just love new adventures and I only have another 40-50 years left I figure...
I always have Helen and Scott Nearing in my head for some reason..good influencesIf Blodgett says, Tipi tipi tipi it must be so!

The opening scene of the movie "Saving Private Ryan" is loosely based on games of dodgeball Chuck Norris played in second grade.
I recognize that room. Came out real nice!
Most excellent! I'm tackling slate in my entry as I post. I should have it done in a few days. I really like your look a lot. Great job.
