A quarter-century ago, I got some pieces of a run-over trike frame at the beach. At the kids urging, I finally combined it with some wheelchair hubs, $9 worth of Salvation Army bikes, some 1/2″ square tube, bright paint, and shortened it 8″ for the kids, and whooeee we had fun today!!
Even the big one can ride!
Bike is front wheel drive; seat and drivetrain cradle pivots at about a 30º from the horizontal within the rear cradle. Front tire contact patch is on the pivot / steer axis, so you comfortably lean in turns.
Forrest – lots more fun than building ’em for myself, I realize!
