A workmate shot an 8d ring-shank nail right into my finger. I was putting up some sofit fascia and asked him to nail it. He nailed it alright. I couldnt get it out and had to cut it off and take a 3′ peice of coma trim to the hospital. Eventually the “bone specialist” they called in removed the nail with my hammer after failing with several surgical tools.
Went straight through the nail and shattered the bone.

No Way!! I totally did not need to see that!! I can assume your finger will never be the same. Are ya ok now? What kind of words were there for the co-worker?

Cool!
Glad it's a color photo!
Ouch. that's going to hurt for a while. Take/ Post a photo every Monday for the next 6 weeks. Could be a neat photo journal.

LOL! I like that idea!Quality, Craftsmanship, Detail
You have to look on the bright side, you will not have to drill the nail to release the blood.
Funny how docs don't have the tools, drove my Dad to the hospital once to remove a fishing hook, I waited in the car, out he came 5 minutes later, with this real look of consternation on his face, had to get his linesmen pliers out of the trunk, doc didn't have anything to cut the hook with.
Hope it heals really quick.
Did the one who did the nailing say he was sorry?
that picture sure gets the message across...
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
WOW!!! What a Ride!
Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
Actually It happened over a year ago and it is completely healed now. I just found the picture again.
I had a funky nail for a long time but thats grown out now too.
As for words for the co-worker, the guy that done it is also a very good friend of mine! He felt awful and was freaking out when he drove me to the hospital. We had a beer later that night!
The best was the look on the girl who was on the front desk at the ER when I brought a piece of 1x6 attached to my finger into the hospital. Ha ha ha ha.
I have been very cautious and aware of people nailing around me now. Any time a new kid starts, I will give him a little talk!

Glad it's all working good, afraid to say I wasn't holding out much hope after seeing the picture.
Yeah you can bet I had my doubts.

Damn, that had to hurt...
hope you belted your workmate with your free hand.
So your nail got nailed. Were you able to finger the guilty party? Did he feel bad abought what he did and give you a hand? Did the hosipital visit cost you an arm and a leg?
OK I'll stop.
Too bad I wasn't using finger jointed 1x6.
