Hadda cut some thick galvanized stock on the break the other day. Utility knife and a few passes right? Then the tip snaps and yer fighting it.
Well, the can opener blade on the ever present S.A.K. ( swiss army knife) or multi tool, works even BETTER. Drag it like a utility blade, and watch the itty bittty curlers, and then see how easily it allows the snap after a score.
The thicker blade and graving type cut makes it a lot easier.

Ya think a carbide plam scoring knife would do? Seems that it would.
Probably would, but I ALWAYS have a S.A.K. in my pocket or a multi tool with a can opener on it.I'll try the carbide scorer, I have to make some long rips on the brake tomorrow.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

I got in the habit of the S.A.K from pipeorgan work , on a tracker action, you build so any repair can be done with just that tool alone. Ain't much room inside one of them, all screws are slotted and you can tune a pipe with a knife.Going like gangbusters here, not much paying work, so it's been work on my shack and make do with whats on hand. Had a few nice surprises lately and one was fix an old Airy Brad nailer ( no parts available) with a bostich stapler rebuild kit...a little tinkering with the piston washer and sumbeach, I made it work.Been going thru the shop and finding long lost scraps and parts and getting stuff organized and unrusted, new shed going up, greenhouse and front porch/veranda. Loving the slower home based pace, but I sure need some income right quick.Wassahappening in your neck of the woods?Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

Bingo! I use the carbide scoring tool all the time for cutting heavier guage metals.
