Best friend is going into biz for himself. I want to get him something really great – I was thinking a set of Crick Levels – 1= 16″ 24″, 30″, 48″, 78″
The vials are more accurate than the Stabilia’s from what I’ve heard.
Love to get some feedback …

Gotta be careful about any negative Stabilia comments around here. Lotta Stabilia users on this forum.

The crick level is way down here. No rain in a long time.

Flood stage near here -- drowned a guy in his pickup.
Alan,
Don't know anything positive or negative about Crick levels, but I am curious.
What is the specified accuracy of Cricks? Cost difference?
Stabila is .029 degrees, or 0.5 mm per meter (printed on the side of every level)or as a proportion "permissible outage" is 1 unit in 2000, or 0.004" in 8' or 1" in 166'. My pencil is not that sharp!
Keep in mind all accuracy figures assume you know how and take the time to read any level.
I have a stable of Stabilas, which are warrantied forever as long as the frame is not bent, so I don't think I will be changing brands anytime soon.

Never underestimate the value of a sharp pencil or good light.
I use stabilas also. Someone one bent my 78'' a couple of months ago. But I'm not afraid of other brands. The Johnson seems good I've had a four foot around for a couple of years. And also a Kapro. I've never heard of a Crick but I think I want one. (tool junky). I guess my point is I used work with a carpenter that would say, " Ah them spirit levels. Ya just can't hurt 'em." Applying that saying to my own experience every time I seen a decent level go bad it has been a bend. So the guarantee doesn't mean much to me anymore. By the way I replaced my 78'' even though it still read true. It bent laterally. I just couldn't use a bent level.
The crick level's been runnin' purty high this spring 'cause of all the rains...

Ah. Beautifully done. I laughed out loud.
Couldn't resist that one. Looks like I'm not the only one

this must be a damn good friend! Your going to drop some real cash on those levels.
I use Smith levels. Used to be Smith and Crick, Crick left and now you have two good level companies.
I own one Stabila but I generally grab the Smith.
