I've been trying to find biscuits for a Ryobi(I know, I know) DBJ50. The little one. It's incredibly handy for joining narrow arched top window casing and the removable head casing on pocket doors. I just realized I'm out of the R3 size (1/2" wide x 1" long x a skinny 1/8th thick). Ryobi's pulled all their stuff from all stores but Home Depot, and they don't stock DBJ50 or the biscuits anymore. Called Ryobi (apparently along with a bunch of other pissed off folks), and it seems like every biscuit in the world is still in Japan waiting to be shipped, but nobody knows where they're shipping them.
I'm buyin' if anybody's got some in the oven...
Thanks, Biscuitless Billy
*I never used biscuits but is this it?http://www.woodworkerswarehouse.com/shopItemDetail.asp?SID=&txtproductId=RYR3&txtQueryID=&txtKeyword=&selCategory=AU&selPrice=&absPage=2&shopperid=M7VJMN5R2GS92N6L00UG3QTAN6QL1M91
*bobl, that's them, I just called TrendLines, and they're waiting for them, too. And, interstingly, the biscuits are the only Ryobi product they do carry, even if they don't have them! Thanks, maybe I should head over to CooksTalk...Holly
*Our local Sears store carry the correct biscuits (branded "Sears" for their version of the same tool). You can also use the Lee Valley/Veritas mini-biscuits (1.125" x 5/8" x 1/8") designed to work with a 1.875" slotting cutter, but work with the Ryobi if you tinker with the depth setting.
*Phill, Called our local Sears before, on a tip from a HD sales clerk, they don't have 'em. Sounds like Veritas might be the ticket. Have you actually used theirs with the Ryobi unit? Thanks, Holly
*I've been there while someone used the Veritas in a Sears version Holly: there were some initial teething problems, triming of biscuits, adjusting depth, etc.; but, sure worked well enough once it was sorted out. I switched to the 557 and FF biscuits.Did you phone Sear's catalog (or try a web order) ?
*Ah, the web order...Bingo. Silly sales people...I was thinking of throwin' some 0's in the dryer.Merci, Holly
*sears has them a bud of mine needed some and almost had to borrow mine but he found them at sears
*Wife got a catalogue from Eagle America (1-800-872-2511. The R3's were in it. Didn't call though
*Thanks all,I did make an order w/ Sears Online Store, and they say they're on the way...
*I'm sure they are...........as soon as they get them in from Japan.LOLb : )
*Dang, then we'll talkin' sue she! or he or it...(:
*On our Sears online, it will give you a stock status and delivery date before you commit to the order - except for the occassional visit to the clearance centre, the only reason I ever go into a Sears store now is to pick up my order.
*Same deal here, thanks for hippin' me. The actual store is a 1/2 hour away, so the paltry 5 buck shipping charge is well worth it...now if we could just get cable internet...or even pizza...
