I have the single shot model. Basically works well. It’s only 22 cal as opposed to 27 cal for the multi-shot, and the longest pin is 2.5″, but it works for me. $19 new, I think, maybe it was $29. A little slow, of course, and overhead work is probably pretty difficult, but for the occassional shot it’s cost effective.
Do it right, or do it twice.

I have one of the hammer driven ones, I've been eyeing the strip load hilti for a while because of the time savings of only having to load the nail and the ability to not use a hammer.
Bargin rack got me again, when I picked this up, they only had one left so I bought it and figured I'd get some responce here and see if I was going to keep it.
This one has a max nail length of 3 in which is nice.

The powder gun I haveis called a Jamerco, which is made by Hilti. Funny, it looks just like that Remington.
Well upon further inspection, I have found one particular I don't know how I feel about... Made in Tawain View ImageGo Jayhawks
Well, gimme a hint, buddy, what ain't made in Japan, Korea, Taiwan or China these days?
A few of the older Porter Cable tools I have were made in Tenn. lol Oh well I gave up on buying only things made in america because its to damn hard. I do if I can, but I won't not buy something because of it.
And though isn't really a fire arm, I would still like anything that shoots powder made in the good old USAView ImageGo Jayhawks
The 2 that I own are Ramset's. Worked with a guy that had a Remington that looked just like that. It worked pretty well. I think you got a good deal. Since you're always looking for a good deal, check out ebay, I've picked up a couple things from there. You just have to know your prices just like everywhere else.Greg
Greg,
I look at e-bay from time to time, But I'm fortunate that most of my impulse buys have to be in my hands at the point of sale. And also lucky most of my impulse buys are on tools, at least they are useful,
Not like my g/f who currently has 50 different shades of red nail polish and god knows how many types or lipstick.View ImageGo Jayhawks
Got the same one had it for years never had a problem. Heck I even killed a deer with it once, but wouldn't recommend it for hunting purposes.
I even killed a deer with it once Obviously you didn't read, understand, and follow all the safety instructions. Either you're a fantastic shot, or the deer was comatose when you snuck up on it.Do it right, or do it twice.
Actually the deer ran into the side of my truck and broke front leg, as I wasn't driving real fast because I had already slowed down when I saw them crossing road.
This unfortunate deer crossed in front of me and turned around and ran into the side. Seeing how the deer wasn't all banged up and being the humanitarian that I'am plus venison steaks are so good. I jumped out of truck and onto the deer, out comes the pocket knife to slit throat.
Deer kicks knife out my hand under truck. A car drives by so I had guy get the Remington out of back of truck put pin in and charge and shot it in brain. Gotta love that road kill
I have an old remington 32cal. powder actuated nailer . can't get shells for it any more . Packed a good whallup. If anyone loads there own shells it would make a good tool .
I've got a remington similar to that. it's red not that shiny silver color though ( i think i've got tool envy) in any case, it uses 10 shot strips (27 caliber) and i've shot probably 2500 nails with it. no problems to speak of. heck except for an occasional shot of wd-40 i have never cleaned the thing.
Cag,
I have one. I had a Hilti for years until broke. I needed one for the next day and it was late, so I went to HD about 11pm and bought one. I've had it for about 2 years now and never had a problem with it. To me it's just as pwerful as the Hilti.
For 100 bucks, I would have bought it just as a back up. You can't go wrong with it. Keep it.
