Anyone know what happened to SawHelper?
I recall some discussion about this a few months back, seems they were re-organizing and looking at new suppliers or something due to the economy.
I tried to contact them via phone, Website and email and have gotten no response.
Just wondering if anyone had seen then at a trade show or know of any other developments?

Not lately. Try over at JLC. Former owner had friends over there.

Forgot him!
Don't tell me you're still crying over davidwood and his stealth infomercials. What do you guys have going together, anyway?AitchKay
Don't know what that's all about, but I do miss Dino and his imput here.View Image bakersfieldremodel.com
Piffin is just saying that Dino wore out his welcome at JLC, as he did here.
I think hk was saying piffin didn't have to say anything?http://www.tvwsolar.com
We'll have a kid
Or maybe we'll rent one
He's got to be straight
We don't want a bent one
He'll drink his baby brew
From a big brass cup
Someday he may be president
If things loosen up
Well, Piffin and I have an ongoing dispute here: Piffin has no problem that davidwood, who actually works with Dino, was posting ecstatic testimonials for Dino's products, while neglecting to mention his financial ties to Dino. And the idle reader would have absolutely no clue as to this relationship without digging deep into the BT archives.Me, I've got a problem with that. It's called full disclosure, and it's covered completely in Ethics 101.That's the back story here.AitchKay
I own and like Dino's products, but I agree that he and David Wood were out of line.I've endorsed a number of products, but I have nothing to gain by it... though I might try to get paid to endorse a few tools. If I do, I'll make that known.
Yeah, sounds like they've got some good stuff!Maybe you can guide them forward on a more appropriate path.Good luck!AitchKay
I think it is worth noting that a business can be on good terms with these forums, like the saw helper guy, or Jim Chestnut of the Clam Clamps, without going overboard.I own and use the EZ guide, but saw how Dino shot himself in the foot on these forums. Too bad IMO.
Guys, I've seen the news and read the story, but it's old news.http://www.tvwsolar.com

Crazy thing is that it is still going on. Dino just started a new infomercial at JLC last week. The thread lasted a short while and got pulled. Katz just started a new thread thanking everyone for mostly ignoring it and being civil until they shut it down.
I'm not crying at all. Those guys have helped me out.what I was commenting on is that some products guys get favors of exposure and others get shut down for exposing a good product.Agree that full disclosure would help him out.

Haven't ever stumbled on any Sawhelper threads/posts. Were they, too, posting that kind of infomercial that gets under my skin so? And you felt they were kind of getting a free ride? Unlike Dino.I've got where you were coming from now.I'm with you as to equal treatment for all.AitchKay
I don't know saw helper. But a preevious post mentioned that the previous owner had friends there making positive mentions on itWhich dino and his friends is not allowed to do, thus 'unlike dino'

Never seen any friends of Sawhelper on JLC. There are many users (I own two) and many of us who have had direct contact with the owner (I've talked to him on the phone and met him at a JLC show). Someone on JLC had a conversation with him about his plans for the future, but no one was his buddy that I was aware of. He never posted to promote his product, nor did anyone associated with his company.
Don't know if this is relevant or not, but since I started the thread I just wanted to put this out here.
I see some of the banter about Dino and others, and don't know the whole history of that but I will say I was merely interested in finding out about the company status, since they didn't answer the phone nor return my email.
I wanted to purchase one of the stands, not trying to endorse or promote anything.
Of course if I am way off base, just disregard this post.
No, no, your OP was completely legit. The conversation just got sidetracked onto the subject of infomercials.

Don't tell me you're still crying over davidwood and his stealth infomercials. What do you guys have going together, anyway? And then we were off to the races with our old pet peeves! But, as subsequent posts show, the Sawhelper guys are clean, unlike davidwood. All I knew about was davidwood’s infomercials, but basswood seems to be saying that dino engages in the same BS regularly. Piffin evidently has no problem with what they do, although I am encouraged to now hear that he prefers full disclosure. In the past, he has told me to back off when I asked for full disclosure, no sneaking around.***************************But, as I said, your OP was completely legit. And davidmeiland posts a pretty strong message contrasting Sawhelper’s ethical approach with the above complained-about behavior.Sorry you got caught in the middle! But none of the heat was directed at you.AitchKay
You forgot to tell him, none of us can answer the question so we like to read ourslves talk!>G<
Nothing like a little BS, right?(But, Hey, Piffin started it!)AitchKay
