Anyone own Milwaukee AND Makita LiIon ?
Hello,
I use the Bosch 18volt system and the Makita 14volt system.
Last year I modified the Dewalt 18cordless vac to take my Bosch batteries.
One of the reason’s I stay with the Mak 14 system is teh cordless blower – which rocks for blowing off driveways at cleanup or sheetgoods when cutting…
So now I’m looking at the Milwaukee vac which has a blower port and am wondering how close the pins/contacts on the Milwaukee batts is to the Makita LXT batts?
I have the Makita LXT multi-impact and am thinking of dumping my entire 14 volt kit and using LXT stuff as the 2nd system.
The only other tool keeping me in the 14 sys is the fluorescent light, which rocks!
If you have both – can you post a pic of both batts lined up?
The Milwaukee vac is $50 at Amazon and looks like it’d be a better design than my modified Dewalt.
Thanks,
Julian

Are you aware that Makita makes an 18 volt LXT Florescent light?

Yea - but that Milwaukee vac looks like a pretty sweet design... Them darn blowers are not cheap either for some damm reason.Went and looked today at HD - looks like the Milwaukee batts are pretty much the same size as the Makitas - the contact slides are just a bit closer together.Figure if I can modify the vac to be my Makita lxt vac/blower, I'll off the entire 14.4 kit and get the LXT flourescent light.Keep the Bosch 18volt system cause it won't die and I have the 15 minute charger. AND - the cordless 10" miter saw is the whip.JT
Sounds like you got it figured out.
Just wanted to make sure you knew your options.
I have been working with a guy that has that light - very handy. I think the blower would be useful to, but, like you say - not cheap.
Good luck with your modifications to the vac - post a pic.
Just bought the Makita 18v LiOn blower. That thing is great!
There is also a Mak. 18v LiOn work light. Several options, in fact.
I am holding out for an LED version.

How exactly did you modify it to except another battery?
