Anyone selling Bostitch floor stapler?

dockelly | Posted in Tools for Home Building on March 24, 2008 05:36am

Looking for a pneumatic floor stapler if any of you guys selling. Otherwise I’ll buy a new one and sell it for about 100.00 less than I pay, around 375.00. Let me know if you’d be interested in selling or buying.

How much hardwood flooring will you be installing? 3/4" flooring?

Were not a big fan of Harbor Freight But, we bought their hardwood floor nailer a few weeks back. $139 & taxs. So far we have installed about 500 sq.ft. with no problems. We have another 700 ft.to go. If I pitch it after the job were still ahead of the game.

2" the same ones that fit the Bostitch fit the China knock off! I have not set foot in a Wal-mart in the past 8-10 months so I don"t think am pushing my Karma by using the HF nailer

OK I'm interested. My brother might have a line on one we can borrow, if not I'll probably buy that one, better than renting.

Glenn You are having good luck with it then? I have recommended to several people that they look into it never heard a report back, if I hadn't brought the Bostitch years ago I'd gone for the HF. Do you use the HF or the Bostich staples?Campbell Hausfeld also has flooring nailer probably made in the same factory .http://www.chpower.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10051&langId=-1&productId=106463wallyoEdited 3/24/2008 10:44 pm ET by wallyo

No problems yet! We did run a box of Bostitch staples through it, along with some no name brand. The last one I rented (Bostitch) ran me $180 for 4-5 day rental, it nice not having to worry when we need to bring it back!

Might want to look into this could give a try and return if it does not work out well for you.

I just saw a factory refurb on amazon for about $300 (bostich MFSIII)you could buy it and use it and than sell it for $250-300 easy. They have great resale as they sell for $479 locally at HD.JT

      1. Nathar | Apr 03, 2008 08:34pm | #14

The MFSIII "used once" is usually available through Craigslist around my neck of the woods for $300 - $350.

Buying a used one and selling it again is probably the cheapest option. Otherwise, buying it new and selling it is about the same cost as buying the HF version and keeping it. It's a tradeoff between the security of the brand name vs. the convenience of owning the tool (HF) after the project is finished.

    Doc,

I've got one you can use if you want to pay shipping from Maine and then back when you're finished.

thnaks, i'm leaning towards nuying on and reselling it.  Not much sq ft to do but time consuming for a beginner.  Renting adds up.

So what was the out come?

We just finished 1100-1200 sq. with the HF stapler.

    All is well.

2nd try at responding.I bought the Bostich, did porch decking, about 350 sq ft. I'll be doing the inside floor, about the same size, next few weeks. I didn't know about the HF until it was to late.
