anyone tried to get the host to fix this
you go to a topic, you start reading, you go down say 15 or twenty posts. one has several pictures, you click on the first, look at it, then return, when you return you (or at least I do) wind up back at post number one – wht causes that? you have to go thru the posts again to get to the next picture

Just hit 'back', way up top. Takes you 'back' to the post the pic was in.
But, but, its SUPPOSED to taste like that!
My back button takes me to post number 1
I haven't noticed that. When I open a picture, I right click on it and open it in a new window. It's a bigger better picture and you just have to x it out when you close it.

Wain,
If you are adventuresome, use a different browser.

They have something called "Tabbed browsing" that allows you to open new tabs (like file folders) in the background.
I middle click on each of the attached .jpg files and they open up in new tabs while I am still reading the thread. Then click on the last tab and view. Close the tab and the next one comes right up. After you close the last jpg tab, you are right back at the thread.
Firebird operates fine on this forum, but has some trouble with JAVA on some sites.

What Gunner said - Open in a new window. I always do that too.
That way, if you scroll down the posts and someone says: "Did ya see that yellow thing in the corner?" You don't have to re-open the pic to try to figure out what they meant.
You can have a whole bunch of windows open at once, and use [alt-tab] to flip back and forth between 'em.
What browser are you using?

thanks.
I am using Microsoft IE 5.1
I've got IE 6.0 and I've never had the problem you're experiencing using the "back" button up top. The "backspace" key on my keyboard also takes me back to the previous message.
Now, if I hit a return or the refresh button either one, it reinitializes the address in the address bar at the top of my screen taking me back to the first message I clicked on when I logged on. Is that what is going on maybe?
Try your "backspace" key instead of a "return" and see if that works for you.Kevin Halliburton
