I need to repair step flashing on a 2 year old architectural shingle roof. The tabs are really stuck down. I’m using a steel blade about 5 inches long. Any tricks to popping them up a bit to tuck the flashing under the shingle?
thanks

This works for me.
Work when it's cool and not in the sun. There is a small window where the shingle will not be too brittle nor the adhesive too soft. I use a Hyde flat bar and spread out the lift a little at a time.
For nail removal I get under the shingle at the nail with a wonderbar. Prying up enough to then get the bar under nail only.
Thermal Window for Architectural Shingles
Calvin,
Thanks for the reply.
I did roofing with 3-tab and cedar shakes in Colorado 20 years ago so I'm somewhat familiar with the temperature issues. The adhesion on these architecturals are really something. My recollection of the 3-tab was that they lifted easier than what I am experiencing now.
Here in Charlotte the temps start in the high 60's at 6:30 AM and go to 80 plus in 2 hours. I'll try first thing in the AM.
regards,
Mark
