Are brass nipples ok for plumbing rough-in?

Roughing in plumbing for bathroom vanity. I used CPVC in the stud bays that have brass inserts which accept 1/2 inch pipe nipples. Can I use brass nipples with these? Would they be less likely to corrode? Thanks.

Brass is good material for plumbing. You should anchor the nipples solidly to the framing because when you attach the shut off valve (with threaded connection) you don't want the nipples to turn. Good luck.
K1c,
Actually, if the nipple does turn a bit when attaching the valve, it will just be tightening a little more into the pipe fitting. Shouldn't hurt....

Ok. Thanks for the feedback.
mw,
>>Can I use brass nipples with these?<< Yes >>Would they be less likely to corrode?<< Yes - of course, I could ask "less likely than what other material"..... Sounds right to me! Jim Edit: for rough-in purposes only: you could use just a brass plug, or iron/brass nipple with a cap (might be easier for fitting DW). Then at the finish stage use, I would use a chrome plated brass nipple, chrome escutcheon (sp?) plate, and a threaded 1/4 turn ball valve (also chrome plated). BrassCraft markets all - maybe even as a "package" - BB or plumbing supply house.
