Has asbestos ever been used in leveling compound? My 50-year old house seems to have asbestos just about everywhere else (ducts, tiles), and pulling up a plywood-over-shiplap subfloor has revealed some leveling compound that looks a bit peculiar to me. It is white and plaster-like but with a visible crystal structure that refracts light well.
