Here is a set of six foot paneled bifold doors made of ash that I just completed. The photos do not show the moldings installed beside the doors but they are done now.

I'll take the natural look of wood over carpet any day. Nice work!
Did you already tell us about the staircase re-do?
Will you describe it, step by step? You show a before and after, but leave out what happened in between.
Nice work, Gary.
Well Bob I'll give it a shot,
My wife wanted to install a laminate floor in the entryway of our home and tear off the wall paper then paint the walls. Well then she was watching a show on HGTV that replaced the carpeted stairs with oak treads an painted the risers, so she decided that she wanted to do something simular with our stairway but she did not like the idea of painting the risers.
I purchase about 500 bf of select kiln dried ash from Timber Products in Munising Michigan last winter at a very good price with no real project in mind for it at the time.So I suggested that we use the ash that I had purchased. I had to glue up the treads to get the depth and the skirt boards to length and the width. Originally she wanted laminate on the landing but I didn't like that idea so I decided to make the landing out of ash and wanted to make it unusual, that is when I thought of the suburst effect. Well after the Laminate floor, stairs and landing where about completed I decided that I wanted to make the door and window casings to something simular that I had done in my woodshop ( http://www.superwoodworks.com/Projects/ShopShots.htm ). After the doors, window and floor was trimmed I decided the old bifold doors just did not seem to be enough, so I proceeded to make the bifold doors and the new coat rack. The project turned out to be more involved than originally wanted it to be but as a result it was hopefully worth the effort. The following links will show the related photos for this project
