Sounds like ordinary cottage condition when you are not there and NOT in the attic. Hot and cold most of the time.

Except for candles and vinyl records and such no problems.
My parents stored lots of stuff in the attic in cent IL - all the cardboard boxes turn to crackly junk after about 15 years. Long term heat probably not too good on leather either, and Pops old racoon coat was quite moth eaten.
Son and DIL store in their attic, have a big thermostatically controlled fan for 95F turn on, it keeps it under 110F.
F on a 90F day.
What junkhound said. Plastics will warp, paper products will dry out and may or may not last. Paper wasps will eat the stuff if they can get in. I store the Christmas tree lights up there and a few storage boxes, but that's it. I can tell you from the hindsight of stupidity that photos and negatives won't last two years up there. Think heat. 150 degrees or so.

Well, as long as you remember the range of conditions, it's not a bad place to sotre stuff. Better than the garage in some ways.
But, remembering that it can get to beyond sauna hot and freezer cold ought to help guide what is stored.
I found this out the hard way after being given a set of punched metal xams decorations with a tea light candle affixed--tealights did not hold up to 135-140º attic temperatures over the summer (but the tinplate is fine <g>).
