Is there an easy trick to sliding flex-duct over rigid duct? I always seem to mangle the flex even if the rigid is crimped or comes crimped. Thanks!
Seth

Pull the outer insulation wrap back and slide it onto the duct stub. Make sure the rigid does not have any burrs on it, and give the flex a slight twist as you push it back on the stub. Push it up far enough to get at least two coils of wire next to the joint if a at a ninety, or six inches on a straight run, place two or three washer head sheet metal screws behind the two compressed coilis of wire. I back those up with a long plastic wire tie, pull the insulation back over, and wire tie it in place also. The key I laerned is in pushing and twisting, not pulling, the flex. It also helps to not have it sagging over your shoulder when working on over head connections. Support it so its' own weight does not work agianst you.
*Dave is right. Sometimes I even tape it with foil tape too.
