I am researching a roofing product for a renovation on my home in Texas. Does anyone have experience with “Authentic Roof” synthetic roof slates? This is a rubber-type injection molded shingle and I am concerned about the intense heat and dramatic temperature swings we see here. Also, what colors are available? The manufacturer’s literature did not list any colors. Are there any other alternatives besides Hardi Slate? I don’t like the saw-cut edge on these? Any comments will be appreciated.

This same subject is about 50 items down, "Imitation Slate Roofs" last message Nov 19. Have a look?
Maybe a FAQ for Andrew? Maybe a sub folder "Roof Q&A" Folder number 70004?

Joe,
What is this folder number 70004 and how do I access it? Yes, I saw the earlier discussion, but I am seeking people who have used or seen Authentic Roof shingles installed. Thanks for the input.

Phil, you do know that this is the roof that Dick Silva used on his house on "This Old House" and a short article in "This Old House Journal".....yeh, I knew that you knew that .
