if it was factory primed, then yes,......
blatant overkill
*Overkill, definitely.
*Overkill.Although, I have seen a lot of factory primed that WASN'T primed on the back side. The stuff I use IS primed on all 6 sides. James DuHamel
*Starts to look like "not overkill" when you guys are getting it primed on 6 sides...if the factory does it, there must be a good reason, right?
*I wonder if it's to "balance" the material?
*My contention about overkill is the fact that the stuff I buy IS already back primed. If I backprime it again, I am wasting my time, and effort. THAT would be overkill. If the stuff is NOT primed, then by all means back prime it. James DuHamel
*James :what is the stuff you use ? Save us some time shopping buddy.Dylan; Depends what relationship you have with this house. If you are going to be the long time owner, back prime unless its already primed. Im looking to get 10 to 15 years out of a paint job on a rental I built last year. Hence , I used SW best.
