This last winter I posted some pictures of interior trusses I had built. Thought you might like to see them finished. Along with a little interior finish.

Thanks All for the comments!
Yes , no nail plates they are actually decorative and are through bolted to a steel ridge beam. We built them outside on flat tables and bolted them all together. Then took them apart and put them together inside and lifted the trusses in place with two beam lifts
The fireplace is a Rumford, herringbone, firebrick design with a dry stack stone veneer.
The flooring is reclaimed 100yr old chestnut from back east.
All the finish is VG dougfir.
Electrical was laid out at framing stage to center on all the panels of the board and batt wainscot. It was a huge amount of detail but sure turned out nice.
Howie
Very Nice! The stone work is VG! what type of stone?
Thanks for the photos!
Pretty work!
I don't see those jagged, galvanized "multiple nail" plates - how can they be trusses without them?
;-)
Forrest
That is pretty cool. Kinda has a feel of a medieval great hall.

Nice details...floors look a lot like antique, reclaimed pine. Is there much of that in cali? Great job on the finish, do you know what it is? I need a dump truck, baby, to unload my head
Nice looking work.
Doug
Aicheewowa! Nice work! Is that all reclaimed wood? Stonework is beautiful too.
Post some more, please.
...that's not a mistake, it's rustic
Thanks!
The wood was reclaimed 100 yr old chestnut from back east and the stone was ordered from Montana but I don't know the specific name.
Here's a picture of the same stone on the exterior and more of the flooring. It was some beautiful stuff.
Howie
Nice. My old bungalow was sold on me when I saw the American Chestnut in the living room and dining room....that's not a mistake, it's rustic
very interesting.. especially how the trusses are continuous pitch but the roof changes pitch at the lower purlin
i've never seen that before

how did this design come to be ?
also... is there a bear in the fireplace face ?

Thanks for the comments!
This house is basically a large cabin ....2200 sf cabin, 2nd home!
Their really roughing it!
The center room or greatroom is the livingroom, kitchen and dinning area and then there are two end wings that are 90 degrees to the main room. In the photo that you posted the question to the roof is an 8:12 pitch and the pitch break is 4:12.
Basically two full wall shed dormers with french doors, windows and transoms looking down the valley for their view.
The home was designed by an architect with a cabin, mountain home feel to it. Lots of rock and wood work.
No there's no bear in the fireplace I think it's the way the lighting is hitting the stone. But it sure looks that way in the photo I never noticed that!
I've attached some pictures of the before we were done with stone work and siding but you can get a feel for the shape of the house. Also some interior photos of the framing.

Nice to see how the 'other' half lives. Especially when they're slumming it. ;)

Seriously, how do people afford to build like that??? I got all excited when I put new post-formed countertops in my kitchen. They're using reclaimed chestnut flooring!!
Beautiful work.
Maybe someday I'll know a little something.
Thanks!
The thing is that this is a 2nd home for them! Must be nice!
There is radiant heat under the flooring also.
Howie
A second home????????
I will now pour boiling water down my throat.
Maybe someday I'll know a little something.
Very nice.
Have you got some plans that you might post?
blue
Thanks!
No I don't have any plans I can post.
Howie
