Does anyone have insight into the quality of entry door locksets? I am comparing Baldwin, Emtek and Society Brass. I understand that Baldwin uses Schlage innards and Society Brass is based on Kwikset. Any insight or recommendations on another brand would be appreciated.

Kwickset are easy to rekey
I've installed a few Baldwin in my time and I was never aware that the inards are Schlage, is that true?
Baldwin is one of the finer locksets that I have installed and for my money they are tops in quality.
I've done a few Emtek, matter of fact the house I'm on right now has both Baldwin and Emtek, no complaints about either.

My Baldwin retailer said the Baldwin keys are interchangeable with Schlage, same key pattern, number of pins, etc. I was looking to get a couple more Baldwin key blanks cut, he was out of the Baldwins, but showed me a schlage blank that worked perfectly. I always thought Baldwin was 1st class, sure has a nice feel to it and smooth action. The retail guy was sure pushing the Emtek as his personal favorite, maybe just a higher commission scale for him, it's hard to get the real pros and cons from a salesman sometimes.
Experienced, but still dangerous!
