The answer is, "No". But yours is a valid concern.

Keep in mind that bamboo is harvested in several world-wide locations. Even in my country of birth, Paraguay, it was grown and harvested.
Paraguay??
I saw forests of giant bamboo last time i was in Puerto Rico, but now thanks to Maria, the Puerto Rican pandas are without food. Maybe we should rip up our flooring and send it to them. What kind of pandas live in Paraguay?
Are Homo Sapiens sapient?
You guys are missing the point the original writer is concerned about. He appears to be an animal lover, as I am. Just because H.sapiens is at the top of the food list does not give us the right to use resources indiscriminately. Thanks for listening.
Exactly! How many pandas are left in Paraguay?
Burger King serves burgers
Taco Bell Serves Tacos
Pizaa Hut Serves Pizza
I'm guessing the real threat to pandas is
Panda Express
So the Orange Chicken might be.....?
Trash?
If we end up with 100% recycling what will trash pandas eat?
Maybe they'll starve to death and quit carping on my deck.
