I am sure there is a standard order for this, but I don’t know what it is.
I am finishing off some ground floor rooms. The drywall is finished and painted. The floor is concrete.
Which goes on first: baseboards or carpet? I will hire out the carpet, but I will do the baseboards myself. If the answer is the baseboards, what is the standard height they go above the cement floor?
I assume the door jambs and door trim go all the way down to touch or be very close to the slab – correct?

usually the door jambs are set 3/8 - 1/2 in above subfloor, same with the baseboard. the base height can be adjusted according to the thickness of the carpet but it is installed before any floor goes down in most new construction. the only time ive installed base after floor is on small bathrooms with tile but not always then, because most will still want a shoe with tile floor.
your carpet guy will need to tuck the carpet under the base which is why baseboard is first.

Disagree slightly. The carpet installer does not need to have the base installed so he can tuck the edge of the carpet. He could trim to the bare wall and then install the base over that.
Bit it would be easier to paint the base without the caqrpet in place ... one less thing to mask off.

Thanks a lot to all three of you who responded. I will install the baseboards first.
Like was stated above, traditionally the base will go down first and the height will be determined by the height of the carpet, I usally go for about 3/8" for most carpets.
The only time I will install base after carpet is if the carpet is a real low nap commercial carpet that is glued down.
