putting a drop ceiling in my existing basement [concrete walls with stick frame above.]
I and was thinking about fire requirements. the walls are fireblocked and drywalled where the drop ceiling starts.
above the drop ceiling and into the joist bays is open. I don’t understand why there isn’t a requirement for drywall against the underside of joists to prevent fire spread within this interstitial space. area is well below what would require draft stops.
am I just overthinking what’s been done a million times before?
