A little while back this magazine had an article about a no mold basement. It talks about using closed cel foam on the floor with two layers of 1/2″ plywood on top of that. If my basement is dry is it necessary to use this system? Is it more for the moisture or is it for the insulation factor? I live in the Northeast so the basement is cool in the winter(no heat right now) All opinions welcomed! Mark

if you're RH is 50% or lower mold is not that much of a factor. the closed cell foam won't absorb & hold water like some other insuls.
