I just recently poured a 1470 sq. ft basement slab for a homeowner acting as the GC. Saturday morning I went to the only equipment rental store in town to rent a power trowel. None available. All 5 are out till monday morning. Some large hog barn and tractor garage pour took them all. I ended up hand trowelling till 3:00 am the next day. I thought it went pretty good with a few trowel marks here and there but it wasn’t polished by any means. The homeowner is satisfied, but would like it if I could clean up the problem areas. By satisfied I mean he has paid me in full for the job. Both he and I would like to somehow get a better result.
Has anyone ever had good results with a fix of this problem?

run a power trowel on it monday, it will still be green enough to break the ridges.
I failed to mention that it was last Saturday.
If you need to break the ridges in a few places you can stone them out, but it does leave a little bit of a blemish. What oes the homeowner want to see as a result?
We would both like to see a better polished floor. The ridges seem to be coming off as we walk on the slab more.
Similar to my basement floor, ended up renting a terrazzo grinder 3 weeks later, came out real good.
A stone ought to work well then. You cab buy them at any good contractor supply place that specializes in concrete. Looks just like a big porous grinding stone on a plastic handle. It's designed for just such a purpose.
Thanks. That's exactly what I was looking for. I'll give it a try.
