A couple years ago I recieved a sample of a mesh electric heating elament that imbeds in the thinset under tile to warm bathroom floors. I think it ws in response to a number card in Fine Homebuilding. I lost the sample and can find anything like that in current adds or online. Can anyone help me find this stuff again?
Thanks Clint

Clint,
Try http://www.nuheat.com
Other versions are http://www.heatway.com and http://www.infloor.com . I have the infloor version in one installation and the nuheat version in 3 others. Like the nuheat the best.

I went to the heatway site, and it looks like the stuff I had and lost. I think the infloor is the stuff that requires self leveling concrete over the wires. Thank for the help.

The Infloor system that I have is the "clip the wires to the floor and cover with thinset/slc" version, also the least expensive. I haven't used the heatway product. Really like all aspects of the NuHeat.
Home Depot sells one brand, nuheat I think. I installed it in my bathroom last year, and it kept the bathroom marble tiles nice and toasty for the entire winter (or what passes for winter we get in Atlanta... Sorry, carpet-bagging Michigander here). It's nice to step out of the shower onto a warm surface, and you don't have to curl your toes while sitting on the throne for an extended period of time. Truely money well spent (around $200 to cover 30 sq. ft or so). Energy usage appears minimal as well. I think I noticed $10 more per month in electric bill but that's hard to account for since we also ran the furnace during winter too. During summer, the condo uses a central chiller system (paid for by condo fee) so our "air conditioner" is essentially a big fan, and uses less energy than a compressor-driven air conditioner.
Check out warmlyyours.com Very helpful and works great. Comes on a fiber mat and is easy to install with full instructions.
