I’m nearing the end of my bathroom remodel and am trying to figure out how to complete the corner where the finish transitions from tile to drywall.
I have a bath situated in an alcove. The walls of the bath alcove are tiled 7 feet up. As it turns the corner and leaves the alcove the wall is tiled up to 4 ft ( approximately). The tiles will be set on a mud wall. How do I finish this transition?
Do I put a corner bead on the drywall where drywall meets drywall, and a J bead or L bead on the drywall where it meets the mud wall? Do I have to worry about a crack at this joint? If I do use a J or L bead do I tile over it up to the corner?
Thanks,
Matt

I'm mainly responding to get others to respond. Is the tile already done? If not, I would be inclined to continue the tile backer up above where tile will be and then maybe use something like 3/8 drywall over that above the tile so any water that gets through the joint between drywall and tile will still have the backer board to get through. On the corners, it seems like what you proposed would work--that, or turn the corner with outside corner tiles.
There is a tile web site that may be of help; I think it's http://www.johnbridges.com (may not have an "s"--I have trouble with that singular/plural thing.
