I have a run in my Berber carpet in the middle of my living room. I need to repair.
1. hot glue?
2.elmers glue?
3 use nail set to push carpet back in?
these are some of the suggestions I had read on the internet. has anyone else had the problem and how did you repair it. I want to replace one day but not now. thanks Doug

Been there.
Pattern? Multi-color?
Slit the backing, pull out strands till the pattern/color rematch..might be two or three from each side depending...then ya need seam tape and a carpet seamer ..and a stretcher to pull the seam closed as you melt the tape. Then a floor chisel to tuck the backing down tite.
Vacuuume and fluff it up and it should be invisble.
If you have never seen it done, or done it on scrap..hire a pro, really.

Anytime we get a snap we get some hot glue and push it back in with a toothpick. Works for us.
There's a lot of fixes for just about everything...whatever works for you, is fine with me.
Real Berber is something I don't have in my house, I just helped an installer one weekend, and he showed the ins and outs of the tricks involved. Pretty good info he showed me.
