Just wondering if anybody knows the cheapest place to buy Bessey clamps? I want to get them on the net, hopefully on sale….can’t believe the price of them regularly…
Thanks,.

The Paslode cordless siding and fencing nailer drives fasteners reliably without the hassle of hoses or compressors.

In the latest Tools & Shop of Taunton there was a survey. Get the Jorgenson K-clamps, not the Bessey. They're available at HD.
I have 4 Kbodies and they are the last I reach for. I really don't like them.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

So what don't you like about them? And I understand the Jets are nicer.'Man who say it cannot be done should not interrupt man doing it' ~ Chinese proverb

It may be just me, but the threads seen awfully short, the funky way they toggle from free to lock never seems to be "right"..hard to describe.I can spin the handles on my I beam Jorgys and be clamped and walking away in a lot less time, than fiddling with handle and re-tightening when they bottom out the screw before they are really clamping. For what they cost, I expected a better user friendly type clamp.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

I use the Bessey in my shop, and like them for the large jaws and evenly applied pressure. But, depending on your job, you may find that you can more squeeze pressure for your buck from pipe clamps. Like Sphere said, sometimes the Besseys can get a bit fussy when you bottom out the pressure screws and then have to back them off, adjust the sliding clamp faces, and then tighten again. It is not always obvious just how much "room" you have before the screws bottom out.Woody
I don't have any K's but am thinking of getting maybe 4. I have over 60 bar & pipe clamps, almost all jorgys & really am used to them. My faves are the Jorg lights, one of the most common clamps on the market. Lots of copies but the J's are still the best.
I have 2 30'' and 2 60'' I got for a particular job after the shop fire.I still use them, just not my first Go To clamps. The I-Beams survived the fire, just needed new clutches ( jorg sent me free ones) but were bent up, and one is still a rt angle clamp,,LOLHanging on the shop wall, cherry red, fell and crumpled up. I beat them back straight, or mostly so, and sand blasted them. Thats a tuff clamp.Bessy won't do that.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

When Grandad passed in '89 he had a whole barn full of "stuff" (you can't believe what he had....want some unopened bags of loose asbestos?! How about a bucket of white lead for making paint?!) I was a kid in a candy shop..
Anyhow, during the Great Depression he was many things including a plumber, and he had miles of black iron pipe in the 21' lengths. He also had a standing pipe threader with all the heads, all for the taking. Back then if you ordered the jorgys 3/4 pipe clamps by the dozen from Trendlines (I think), you only paid about $6.00 a clamp. I got a mess of 'em and got to work.
They made nice presents to my carp & wood buds, but I still have 30 or so.
They be good clamps.
Yup. I too have a slew of them babys. They also mostly survived the fire, but bend easy now.

Grizzly has a slight sale...
Might not be the best prices but a good place to compare types.

And while we are on the subject of clamps here is a little known american company that makes some nice stuff.
